KeyPaaS's Smart Kiosk EasyQube is a versatile solution for managing access control, particularly useful in the context of COVID-19. The kiosk offers features like temperature and mask detection, contactless authentication, and visitor management, contributing to a safer and more streamlined experience. The Smart Kiosk EasyQube is suitable for various settings such as offices, public institutions, and schools.
The challenge
Designed a comprehensive user interface for a smart device stationed at the entrance of corporate buildings. This device seamlessly integrates with the KeyPaas security platform, offering a range of functionalities: • Health & Safety: Measures body temperature to ensure a safe environment. • Access Control: Streamlines visitor access with features like access code activation, requests, and temporary code generation. • Information & Engagement: Acts as a dynamic display for promotional and informational content, including videos, images, building maps, and more. • Convenience Features: Enables ticket purchases, queue management, document printing, newsletter subscriptions, and assistance requests.
My role
My role in the team was an UX Designer and also UI Designer that took care of the application. The project has begun with me at the lead designer of the project. Also i have done the promotional videos that includes creating the video from script to the final edit in 48 hours for 3 languages. In addition, I worked alongside a team of 4 developers, 1 junior designer, for a short period of one month of Analyst and 1 Product Manager. The application is live on kiosks.
The process behind the delivery of the final product
Leveraged Agile and Design Thinking: Employed a user-centric, hands-on approach grounded in Agile and Design Thinking methodologies, adhering to its five key stages: Empathize (user understanding), Define (problem identification), Ideate (solution generation), Prototype (tangible representation), and Test (user feedback). This iterative process fostered innovation and a focus on creating solutions that deliver a competitive advantage. Led Design & UX Initiatives: Spearheaded the design of the pickup experience from December 2020 to July 2021. Initiated and conducted design sprints, user testing sessions, and comprehensive design reviews. Championed a holistic approach, working on both UI and UX concurrently to ensure a seamless user experience. Curiosity revealed an opportunity to perfect the workflow of targeted users and recover the investment through understanding the ways of work and organize all the information in one true source of truth that can be used by daily bases.
Final thoughts
Collaborating across disciplines was incredibly rewarding. Using Agile and Design Thinking, we dug deep to understand our users, turning insights into a streamlined pickup experience. Leading design sprints and user testing brought the solution to life. It was truly exciting to see our work create a real impact for the client
